Severe thunderstorm warning canceled for southern Genesee County until 6:30 p.m.

A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Genesee County until 6:30 p.m. Sept. 21. (WDIV)

GENESEE COUNTY, Mich. – A severe thunderstorm warning for southern Genesee County has been canceled, the National Weather Service announced.

The warning was originally schledued to expire at 6:30 p.m., but it has ended early.

Temperatures are soaring closer to 90 degrees in Detroit and Southeast Michigan.

A few showers and storms will form north of 8 Mile Road late Thursday afternoon.

Temperatures will remain warm for baseball Thursday evening. The Tigers will tackle the Twins at 7:10 p.m.

It will be mild with overnight lows in the 60s.

It will be hot Friday, which is the first official day of Fall. Highs will be back into the 80s. The  Autumnal equinox is at 4:02 p.m.
