DETROIT - Happy Friday everyone!

It's a quiet start to the day as temps dip into the mid 50s to low 60s early under partly to mostly cloudy skies. It's a cooler start along and north of I-69 as morning lows are starting in the 40s.

Be prepared for rain and thundershowers as we head through the afternoon. We may see some light rain in the area before lunch, but scattered showers and storms are more likely throughout the afternoon.

Temperatures will be in the mid 70s today with winds E 5-10 mph.

Saturday looks mostly dry after some early morning shower chances as highs climb into the upper 70s to near 80° again. After a partly sunny day, A late afternoon or early evening isolated shower is possible but not likely for most of us.

Sunday will be very similar with a little more sunshine and highs near 80°. Rain will be moving towards SE Michigan late in the day and will hold off leaving us mostly dry once again.

Looks like a pretty darn good weekend.

We will likely have a few scattered showers on Monday which is the big Fireworks show downtown Detroit. We'll keep a close eye on the forecast all weekend.
