Warm, becoming cloudy Friday night with rain by morning

DETROIT – Friday night will be warm and muggy with increasing clouds. Those clouds produce rain showers and storms that could be strong for the first half of Saturday.

Friday night skies become overcast, and it remains warm and muggy. Residents must make sure their homes are well ventilated or have working air conditioning.

Showers and thunderstorms are possible before sunrise Saturday morning. There is a marginal to slight risk of strong to severe storms. Heavy rain, frequent lightning, damaging wind and hail are possible. The South Zone (areas south of I-94, including Lenawee and Monroe counties) has the greatest potential of any hazardous weather. Wet weather remains possible through lunchtime.

The wettest times of day will be in the morning and midday for Detroiters and guests going to and from the grand opening of Beacon Park in downtown Detroit.

Saturday afternoon will be partly cloudy with more widely scattered showers. Any amount of sunshine with bump temperatures up to the low and middle 80s.

Saturday evening will be warm and mostly cloudy with temps in the 70s.

Saturday night will have clouds overhead. It remains warm with lows near 70 degrees.

Sunday will be partly sunny with scattered showers. It continues to be summer-like with highs near 85 degrees.

After a weekend of showers for gardens, lawns and crops, much of next week will be bright, warm and more comfortable. After a front moves through, sunshine and less humid air return. Highs on Monday will be in the upper 70s with mostly sunny skies. Tuesday will have bright blue skies with highs near 80. Wednesday will be mostly sunny and warm with highs in the low 80s.
