31-year-old Holly man killed in Oakland County motorcycle crash

Investigators believe speed was a factor in the crash

HIGHLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 31-year-old man from Holly was killed when his motorcycle collided with an SUV in Oakland County.

The crash happened at 9:21 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 15, 2023, in the area of Livingston Road and Highland Road in Highland Township.

A 2017 GMC Yukon XL driven by a 62-year-old woman from Howell was turning from westbound Livingston Road to eastbound Highland Road when the crash occurred, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office. The Yukon entered the left turn lane for the median crossover when a 2003 Suzuki GSX-R1000 motorcycle collided with the SUV.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 31-year-old man from Holly, was thrown into the median. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Investigators believe speed may have been a factor.

The crash is being investigated by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit.
