Michigan State Police investigate deadly Telegraph Road crash

ASH TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 53-year-old woman from Toledo was killed in crash in Monroe County.

Troopers were called to the scene of the crash at 7:10 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the intersection of North Telegraph Road near Indian Trail Road.

Witnesses and evidence indicate that a 2022 Toyota Camry driven by a 53-year-old woman from Toledo, Ohio, was going south on North Telegraph Road. She lost control of the vehicle, and crossed over the center line into oncoming traffic.

The Camry struck a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado that was traveling north on North Telegraph Road. The Silverado was driven by a 28-year-old man from Monroe. The driver of the Silverado and three passengers in the Camry were taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The 53-year-old woman from Toledo was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Police said speed appears to be a factor.
