DETROITMichigan Wolverines national champion Junior Colson was drafted by former coach Jim Harbaugh and his Los Angeles Chargers at pick No. 69 in the third round of the NFL draft on Friday.

Colson was dominant during the Wolverines championship run and showed his sideline-to-sideline range in 2023 while playing inside linebacker, recording 95 total tackles, 44 solos, 51 assists, and two pass deflections.

The 6′3″ 247-pound 21-year-old played with an excellent combination of size and strength as he shredded the opposing team’s offense while patrolling the second level of the defense for Michigan.

The junior linebacker won the Lott IMPACT Award (Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community, Tenacity), named after College and Pro Football Hall of Fame defensive back Ronnie Lott.

Colson was also named to the Second-team All-Big Ten Conference after he helped lead the Wolverines to an undefeated 15-0 season, a first in program history.
