JMSN + Headphone Activist at Magic Stick: Born in Detroit, and currently residing in Los Angeles, JMSN (born Christian Berishaj), is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, engineer, mixer, and videographer. 

Detroit Tree Lighting: Tree Lights at approximately 7:45pm! 

Wild Lights at the Detroit Zoo: The Detroit Zoo will light up the night again this holiday season with Wild Lights, a spectacular light display. For 29 nights, more than five million LED lights will illuminate trees, buildings and more than 200 animal sculptures throughout the front half of the Zoo. 

Jessica Hernandez & the Deltas at El Club: With special guests - Messenger Birds 

Wayne County Lightfest (thru 12/31): As the Midwest’s largest and longest drive-through light show, Lightfest features more than 47 giant animated holiday themed displays. The entire light show has been converted to environmentally beneficial LED lights.

Saturday, November 19:

Detroit: Black Bottom and Paradise Valley: The Detroit Historical Museum is thrilled to present a series of tours focused on the history, experiences and enduring influence of African Americans in Detroit. There will be a total of eight tours with different focuses available. Jamon Jordan, founder of the Black Scroll Network, will be the tour guide for this series.

Detroit Roller Derby: Season 12 Game One: The Detroit Roller Derby is opening their home season at the Masonic Temple, Saturday, November 19! Remember, we re-drafted our home teams in the offseason, and now the competition is fierce to see who will come out on top this year!

Fitz and The Tantrums at The Fillmore: Fitz & the Tantrums musical style can be described as “soul influenced indie pop.” Their imagination and energy defied the odds to become a chart-topping phenomenon. Songs like their catchy first single, “Out Of My League” demonstrate the drama and passion that can be found in the band’s live shows.

Sunday, November 20:

Holy Mole II: HOLY MOLE II! will invite Mexican women to compete in making homemade mole, Mexico’s national dish. The contest promotes community, Mexican cuisine, culture and Latina entrepreneurs who have been the bedrock of a strong informal economy.

Ferndale Love March: Gather with us to march to stand against hatred, bigotry, racism, sexism, and xenophobia. Throw on your pantsuits and take a walk.

Tiki Takeover featuring Porco Lounge & Tiki Room: If you have been following our adventures over the last couple of years you'd know that we are big fans of the bar team at Porco Lounge and Tiki Bar in Cleveland. We are excited to have them join us in Detroit to share their tropical libations and warm hospitality for one evening!
