Comedy 4 Cancer held in honor of late teen who fought cancer

Proceeds to go to 2 local families of children battling cancer

WARREN, Mich. – While 13-year-old Stephanie Marshall may no longer be living, her home is bursting at the seams with stuffed animals, handmade cards and photos to show everyone the daughter and sister is certainly not forgotten.

"We cry every day," her dad, JD Marshall, said.

It was December 2014 when Val and JD Marshall learned their daughter was living with an inoperable brain tumor -- a diagnosis that changed their lives, but not their teenage daughter's spirit.

Now, one year after her passing, Stephanie's parents said they wanted to capture that spirit through laughter -- something she did a lot during her treatment.

On April 16, four comedians will hit the Warren Community Center stage for two hours of laughs for Comedy 4 Cancer. It's a night to raise money for childhood cancer -- specifically for two local boys named Noah who are battling cancer themselves.

Tickets for Comedy 4 Cancer range anywhere from $12 to $18. All of the proceeds will go to the two boys' families.
