Community health, wellness fair to be held in Detroit

Free health screenings to take place for southwest Detroit neighborhoods

DETROIT – A community health and wellness fair is scheduled to be held in Detroit on June 1.

SER Metro-Detroit, Jobs for Progress, Inc., in partnership with the Wayne County Health on Wheels Mobile Health Unit Program and local healthcare providers, will offer free healthcare screenings for all southwest Detroit neighborhoods.

Sponsored by SER YPLP Youth, health screenings for HIV/AIDS, body mass index, blood pressure, cancer, cholesterol, BMI, stroke risk and dental exams will take place Saturday, June 1 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The fair is open to all ages and families and will take place at SER Metro-Detroit, located at 9301 Michigan Avenue in Detroit.
