DEARBORN, Mich. – Goodwill Industries says it's gotten final approval from the city of Dearborn to put a new, "upscale" style store in a vacant commercial building just off of Michigan Avenue and Military.
Â
A spokesperson for Goodwill says the decision comes after several tries with Dearborn officials and in the wake of come people in the area saying they didn't want a Goodwill store in that area.
Â
Goodwill says it's filling a spot that's been left vacant for years and will invest $500,000 into the building to make the store look like it's "boutique" Goodwill that recently opened in Canton Township.
Â
25 employees will be hired and the new store will be open for sales and donations by fall.
