Hansen launched a Kickstarter in 2015 to raise money for the new show's production.

Hansen's original show on NBC, called "To Catch a Predator," aired from 2004 to 2007. With police, the show conducted sting operations to catch child predators by impersonating underage people.

The show led to more than 300 arrests of child predators.

The show ended in part because of its popularity -- it became too hard to actually catch predators.

Chris Hansen is from the metro Detroit area, and worked as a reporter at WDIV in the 1980s.
