During a radio interview in October Seger told the 94.7 WCSX morning show about his new project. During the interview Seger told Ken Calvert and Jim O'Brien that he had six songs written for a new album. He went on to say he may have to pick some previously recorded, yet unreleased music, to "finish it out." Seger said he has about 90 songs he has written and recorded that have not been released.

This would be Seger's first all-studio new release since 2006's "Face The Promise".

In July Seger told Billboard Magazine some working titles for his next album were "Wonderland" or "Ride Out". He also said he was working on a duet with Trisha Yearwood.

Seger played 54 shows in 2011 and went back on tour to play a handful of venues in November 2012.
