Flashpoint 4/10/16: Automotive industry changing across U.S.

Ford is building a new plant in Mexico and FCA issued pink slips to 1,300 workers at the Sterling Heights assembly plant all while Elon Musk reveals the new Tesla Model 3. The issues of trade affect the automotive industry in Detroit and it has been a major talking point of the presidential candidates.

The Flashpoint panel consisted of Daniel Howes, business columnist for The Detroit News, Stephen Henderson, editorial page director for the Detroit Free Press, Brian Dickerson, columnist at the Detroit Free Press, and Nolan Finley, editorial page director of The Detroit News, discussing the changing automotive economy and the presidential race. Devin Scillian was joined by Anika Goss-Foster, executive director of Detroit Future City, to talk about the newest projects for the city.
