Mona, a native of Flint, Michigan, wanted to bring attention to a serious issue while having fun.

"I hoped that a pregnant woman, who is obviously Muslim, creating art and speaking truth would inspire people and offer some levity, joy and hope. I want to be able to inspire young girls and let them know that they can look and dress any way they want and still be relevant and current," said Haydar.

The budding artist created the song with a message in mind.

"I support all peoples working towards growing our world to be more beautiful and loving. My message and mission are clear with my art: inclusivity and love," said Haydar. "I'm all about bending boundaries that seem static and unmovable and pushing limits that others are afraid of- but in a way that is full of intention. I hope to call attention to shifts that need to happen and challenge perceptions and ideas that don't serve us. We're working to build the more beautiful world we all know is possible- one that is full of kindness and compassion."

Although most people have enjoyed the song, Haydar says she has come across some haters.

"There are Muslims who believe that music is impermissible or "haraam." There are others who believe that women shouldn't sing or perform. Those are obviously not my beliefs and I have the support of my spiritual/religious teachers in these beliefs. I've studied these issues. I'm not a kid rushing into my art. I'm a grown woman who believes that art can heal the world. I'm not worried about the haters. They'll get on board eventually and I will welcome them with all my love when they do. In the meantime, I still love them dearly. Believing that a more beautiful world is possible requires me to love even those who hate me."

The video was shot at the Arab American National Museum in Dearborn.
