DETROIT – A dog that was rescued after being found with a plastic jar stuck on its head in an abandoned Detroit home is now looking for a family.
The Michigan Humane Society said it was a tipster's call to the organization's rescue hotline that led them to the 3-year-old Chow mix, whose been named Olive.

Rescuers said the dog was gasping for air when they found her, and holes were cut in the plastic to help her breathe.
Back at MHS' shelter, rescuers were able to pry the jar off Olive's head. She had to be treated for heartworm, but MHS says she is now strong and looking for her forever home at the MHS Detroit Center for Animal Care.
