This Detroit bar-turned-restaurant is dishing out good vibes

Dishes are custom created based on customers request

When you visit “Good Vibes Lounge,” on Detroit’s East Side, Owner and Creator, Portia Powell says, you feel like you’re home.

“We’re a modern day Cheers, our regulars come all the time, they know us, we know them,” Powell told “Live in the D,” reporter, April Morton. Powell admits that when they first opened, she thought the business would be more of a bar and lounge, but the growth she said, has exceeded her expectations.

“People come here to eat, and may order a drink with their meal,” she said. Their menu items are custom created, and changes per request. Powell said, they listen to their customers, when they asked why isn’t lamb served, they created a recipe made from halal meat, and now lamb chops are their biggest seller.

Good Vibes Lounge is located at 16801 Harper Ave, Detroit.
