An Egg-stravagant weekend on tap in Metro Detroit

Easter weekend is just ahead, and there are plenty of events happening around Metro Detroit to help you celebrate. First up in Lake Orion, it’s the “Egg-stravaganza,” happening at Canterbury Village. The annual event will feature a petting zoo, photos with the Easter Bunny, and bounce house, and lawn games. The highlight of the event will be a helicopter raining plastic eggs from the sky. After collecting, the kids can redeem prizes inside the eggs at the village shops. The event takes place Friday and Saturday in Lake Orion.

Next up, another helicopter drop, this time instead of eggs, marshmallows will fall from the sky,15,000 to be exact. Participants will trade in the marshmallows for a treat bag. The event happens Saturday 10 a.m.-12 p.m., at Catalpa Oaks County Park, Southfield.

Finally, Paradise Park in Novi will host an Easter Egg hunt. Through the slides and amusement rides visitors will search for hundreds of colorful candy and toy filled eggs. There will also be a pizza buffet. The event happening Saturday 11 a.m., doors open at 10:45 a.m.
