From school bus yard to serving up fresh dishes, check out this new Birmingham joint

A restaurant group known for repurposing old buildings is at it again

The Union Joints restaurant group is known for repurposing buildings around Metro Detroit and turning them into unique dining experiences. The group behind the popular Vinsetta Garage in Berkley and other restaurants has once again transformed another space.

The Lincoln Yard in Birmingham opened in early March, 2024, and the owners said when they saw the vacant building years ago, they knew it was destined for greatness. “It was the city of Birmingham school bus garage, and repurposing is part of our purpose, we just love the neighborhood, we love the Rail District,” Curt Catallo, Partner with Union Joints Group said.

He said the restaurant offers something for just about everyone. “It’s a space where you can kind of decide your narrative, if you want to lounge, if you want to sit at a bar, pizza counter, or a lunch counter,” Catallo said. They also offer carry-out and freshly baked pastries at the connecting Little Yard space.
