Tire fire causes large smoke plume on Detroit’s west side

No homes, buildings damaged in fire

DETROIT – No people were injured in a fire that occurred Wednesday morning on Detroit’s west side.

The fire was on Roselawn Street, just north of Schoolcraft Road. Neighbors said the field where the fire was had been used as a dumping site.

According to the Detroit Fire Department, the thick smoke was caused by tires that had been burning.

No injuries or damages to buildings have been reported.
