Missing Livonia man found dead in Northern Michigan river

Man went missing in fly-fishing trip

A missing Livonia man was found dead in a river in Northern Michigan last week.

The Mason County Sheriff’s Office said 70-year-old Livonia man Thomas Patrick Moran had been vacationing in Lake County last Friday, and had not returned from a day of fly-fishing on the Pere Marquette River.

After about six hours of searching, around 12 p.m., Moran was found deceased in the Pere Marquette River, approximately one half mile downstream from the Maple Leaf Access parking area.

Police said the investigation is ongoing, but it appears that the incident was accidental or medical in nature.
