A Plymouth man is walking from one U.S. coast to another to help raise money and honor his friend who recently became paralyzed.

Zach Foor, a rehab technician, is literally walking from east coast to west coast on the American Discovery Trail to help his friend who suffered a spinal cord injury in 2020. Friend Greg Mans was left paralyzed by the neck down.

The friends are hoping to share their journeys in a unique way to help others on their own recovery journey. Through certainsteps.org, Foor is walking the country, Mans is rehabilitating simple arm and finger movement, and they are coming together through words, art, pictures, and videos, they say.

Because of their shared love for writing, Foor and Mans will also be raising money to host a free, eight-week writing workshop for those affected by paralysis and their caregivers. The virtual workshop will take place after Foor completes his walking journey.

"One-third of all workshop donations will go towards Greg’s personal care to benefit his quality of life,” certainsteps.org reads.
