The Local4Casters have declared a Severe Weather Alert for Friday Afternoon and Evening.
Damaging winds up to 70 mph will be the most likely threat. However, tornadoes will be possible.
Overnight rain will linger into the morning commute. This is NOT the precipitation that we're worried about. We'll dry out from mid-morning through mid-afternoon. As temperatures hit records again in the upper 60s, thunderstorms will begin to pop up between 4PM and 6PM. Those will become more numerous after sunset. The severe threat will last through 2AM Saturday morning.
The highest threat will be in our South Zone, with the lowest threat in our North Zone.
Stay with Local 4, ClickOnDetroit and the Local4Casters app throughout the day as we track the storm threat.
