DETROIT – Can we talk about the NFL Draft?

With pleasure should be everyone’s response. What a beautiful three-day party the city of Detroit put on with over 700,000 people attending.

That’s a new record for the draft, and this rotating event has been going on for 10 years. Detroit broke the record set by Nashville.

Let’s also mention there were no incidents of note while the festivities were going on, and they put the city of Detroit on center stage, and everyone came through with amazing marks.

Kudos to everyone that helped with the planning. Detroit can shed that old reputation which people saw. It’s gone!

And one more thing... Detroit has proven they can put on a world-class event with the best of them. Next up, the Detroit Grand Prix through the streets of the city, the Ford Fireworks on the Detroit River (and on Local 4) and the Rocket Mortgage Classic at Detroit Golf Club.

So take a bow, Detroit... you didn’t just do good, you did great! Bravo!
