Big Ten basketball tournament: Bracket, matchups, game times

WASHINGTON – The Big Ten Tournament is heading to the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. this week for the first time in the conference's history.

All 14 teams will compete, starting Wednesday and ending Sunday, for a chance to earn the Big Ten's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Here's a look at the seeds for the Big Ten Tournament:

Tournament schedule

The bottom four seeds in the Big Ten Tournament will play in the first round on Wednesday. Those teams will advance to the second round Thursday, with Thursday's winners moving on to face the top four teams in the conference on Friday.

Here's a look at the full schedule for the Big Ten Tournament (Eastern Time).

Wednesday:

• Penn State vs. Nebraska at 4:30 p.m.
• Rutgers vs. Ohio State at 7 p.m.

Thursday:

• Illinois vs. Michigan at noon
• Penn State/Illinois vs. Michigan State 25 minutes after Illinois vs. Michigan game ends
• Indiana vs. Iowa at 6:30 p.m.
• Rutgers/Ohio State vs. Northwestern 25 minutes after Indiana vs. Iowa game ends

Friday:

• Illinois/Michigan vs. Purdue at noon
• Penn State/Illinois/Michigan State vs. Minnesota 25 minutes after Illinois/Michigan vs. Purdue game ends
• Indiana/Iowa vs. Wisconsin at 6:30 p.m.
• Rutgers/Ohio State/Northwestern vs. Maryland 25 minutes after Indiana/Iowa vs. Wisconsin game ends

Saturday:

• First semifinal game at 1 p.m.
• Second semifinal game at 3:30 p.m.

Sunday:

• Championship game at 3 p.m.
