Michigan prepares for 2nd battle with Ohio State

Wolverines look to avenge 56-53 loss to Buckeyes on Jan. 13

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – In Michigan's first meeting with Ohio State, the Buckeyes jumped out to an early 21 point lead.

The Wolverines battled back with a chance to win the game at the end, but couldn't manage a victory. The Maize and Blue lost 56-53 in Columbus back on Jan. 13, but get another crack at the Big Ten rival Tuesday night at the Crisler Center.

Sophomore guard Trey Burke lead the way for Michigan in the first meeting with a team high 15 points and four assists. Burke also had a couple of opportunities in the closing seconds to tie the game up, but two 3-point shot attempts rimmed in and out.

Ohio State's defense proved to be too much, flustering Michigan into 13 turnovers. Deshaun Thomas led the Buckeyes in scoring with 20 points, handing Michigan their first loss of the season.

Michigan is coming off a lost to Indiana on the road and looking to start their second game with the Buckeyes much better than they did the first. Tipoff is set for 9:06 p.m. Tuesday and is sold out.

The fans will be "Maized-Out" in the stands wearing Michigan's signature shade of yellow. The Michigan players will also debut the first ever all-maize basketball shoes during the game.
