DETROIT – The Detroit Tigers selected right-handed pitcher Alex Faedo with the No. 18 overall pick in the 2017 MLB draft.

Faedo is a dominant pitcher from the University of Florida who was drafted by the Tigers in the 40th round in 2014 out of high school.

Baseball America ranked Faedo as the No. 4 right-handed pitcher available in this year's draft and projected him as a top-10 pick.
