Lions acquire defensive tackle Ngata from Ravens

Trade will fill void left by departure of Suh

DETROIT – It's been a busy start to the NFL league year -- and the Detroit Lions are getting in on the action.

The Lions and Baltimore Ravens announced a trade that will send defensive tackle Haloti Ngata to the Lions, pending a physical. In exchange, Detroit will send 4th and 5th-round picks to Baltimore, according to reports.

Ngata will help fill a void left by the departure of Ndamukong Suh, who is expected to sign with the Miami Dolphins. Lions will give up a 4th and 5th round pick in the deal.

In 2014, Ngata had 31 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 interceptions and 2 forced fumbles. He was the 12th overall draft pick of the Baltimore Ravens in 2006, and has been selected to five Pro Bowl games.
