The 2017 NFL Draft is April 27 - April 29 in Philadelphia.
The team has many needs, including offensive line, secondary, and linebackers.
Here's who the experts are picking for the Detroit Lions, and what they're saying:
Chad Reuter, NFL.com: Taco Charlton - DE, Michigan: Charlton stays in-state to help Ziggy Ansah bully passers in the NFC North.
CBS Sports: Haason Reddick, ILB, Temple: The Lions addressed concerns along the offensive and defensive lines through free agency but lost speed at linebacker with the decision to release DeAndre Levy. Reddick recorded 22.5 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks as an edge rusher for the Owls in 2016 before wowing first at the Senior Bowl as a more traditional linebacker and then at the combine, recording a ridiculous 4.52 second time in the 40-yard dash and 11-1 broad jump at 6-1, 234 pounds.
Walter Football: Adoree Jackson, CB/KR, USC: The Lions have two terrific cornerbacks in Darius Slay and Nevin Lawson, but there's very little depth behind the two, which is not good when trying to defeat the Packers. Plus, Lawson is entering his contract season. Teams think very highly of Adoree Jackson, so he could go much earlier than this; I had him slotted at No. 15 to the Eagles in a previous update.
SBNation: Taco Charlton, DE, Michigan: Last week the pick for Detroit was Michigan State’s Malik McDowell, and that enraged some Lions fans. This week it’s back to being Charlton, who has the size and athleticism to work the edge or kick inside on certain plays.
Bleacher Report: Gareon Conley, CB, Ohio State
FOX Sports: Taco Charlton, DE, Michigan: Carlton has the talent to be a top-10 pick, but his motor is of serious question. At No. 21, that doesn’t matter as much, and the Lions need all the defensive help they can get.
