Sam Mikulak was a member of the University of Michigan men’s gymnastics team from 2011-14. He won several NCAA titles and was a member of the U.S. men’s gymnastics team in the 2012 Summer Olympics. Mikulak was named to the 2016 Olympic men’s gymnastics team after posting the highest all-around score at the U.S. trials.
Mikulak was born in Corona del Mar, California, and started gymnastics at age two. Both of his parents competed in gymnastics at the University of California, Berkeley.
Mikulak will begin competition on Aug. 6 in Rio.
