"The Erie SeaWolves, Double-A Affiliate of the Detroit Tigers and the best team in the universe in any sport at any level, announced today the team will host Alternative Facts Night on Friday, August 25 at UPMC Park when they host the Akron Yellow Bath Toys at 7:05 p.m.

"A fact is defined "as a thing that is indisputably the case." On Alternative Facts Night, the SeaWolves will celebrate facts that the team knows to be true - even if some media outlets may dispute them. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a 2016 replica championship ring celebrating the SeaWolves' 2016 Eastern League title. While it was a tough decision to decide which championship to honor, the team will celebrate its most recent one.

'Alternative Facts have become a part of popular culture in 2017,' SeaWolves Team President Greg Coleman said. 'We plan to interject truthful hyperbole into all aspects of the game on this night from our giveaway to the between innings fun. It's going to be huge.'

"SeaWolves fans are tremendous fans, the best fans. No one has better fans, and a complete and total sellout is expected on this night. While the capacity of UPMC Park is 6,000, 1.2 million fans are expected to attend.

"The SeaWolves' opponent on this night may dispute the team's 2016 title run. Very unfair. It is up to the fans, who are tremendous fans by the way, to decide.

"On Alternative Facts Night, one fact that will be undeniably true is that the SeaWolves will raise funds to benefit the Partnership for Erie's Public Schools. Proceeds from in-game fundraising efforts will be donated to the local education foundation.

"Erie SeaWolves single-game tickets will be available for purchase online, via phone and at the UPMC Park ticket office starting Saturday, March 11 at 10 a.m. The team will celebrate Super Ticket Saturday with prize giveaways and free food and drinks compliments of Panera Bread, Smith Provision Co., Utz Quality Snacks, Cellone's and Pepsi. Rocket 101 will be on site from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Fans can purchase individual game tickets, season ticket packages and a wide selection of NEW SeaWolves merchandise.

"Fans can help the SeaWolves 'Stuff the Batter's Box' to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of NW PA. Fans who donate non-perishable food items to Second Harvest on SUPER TICKET SATURDAY will be entered into a drawing for SeaWolves tickets and VIP experiences. The SeaWolves will award over $1,000 in prizes to fans donating at the food drive. During fiscal year 2015-2016, Second Harvest provided 13 million pounds of food to 167,700 recipients in our region."
