Fiery crash kills 5 people on M-59 in Livingston County's Oceloa Township

3 other people are in critical condition

OCEOLA TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Five people were killed Tuesday night in a crash on M-59 at Argentine Road in Livingston County's Oceola Township. 

Michigan State Police said a vehicle traveling southbound on Argentine Road blew through a stop sign and crashed into another vehicle on M-59 (East Highland Road). Both vehicles were traveling at speeds of at least 55 miles per hour, which is the posted speed limit on both roads. 

The crash happened about 10:40 p.m. Tuesday. 

The two vehicles landed on the other side of M-59. One of the vehicles rolled over and the other burst into flames. 

Five people were killed in the crash. Three people are in critical condition.

State police said more details about the crash will be released later Wednesday.
