ROMULUS, Mich. – No knives in the cabin -- that's the latest from the TSA chief after a meeting with an aviation security panel earlier in the day.
Ever since the announcement that passengers could again carry knives with blades smaller than 2.36 inches, there has been a lot of backlash. Frequent flyers thought it was a bad idea.
"I just didn't think it was necessary. It had already been accepted by everybody, and why change it?" said Thomas Andrys, a traveler at Detroit Metro Airport.

After Monday's meeting, the TSA, citing the bombings at the Boston Marathon, says the terror attack underscores the need to focus on identifying explosives and other threats to aircraft.
The new guidelines that would have gone into effect on Thursday are on hold indefinitely.
"I think they shouldn't allow the knives on the plane, really, I feel safer right now," said Bob Parker, a traveler at Detroit Metro Airport.
