DETROIT – The Winter Weather Advisory covers all areas along and south of M-59 for all of Monday as light snow is moving into Metro Detroit.
That light snow will be going most of the day making travel slippery and slow with the possibility of 2-6 inches of snow throughout your Monday. That's up from 2-4 inches because some areas are reporting 4 inches of snow on the ground already.
Temps in the mid to upper 20s most of the day will feel colder with the winds ESE 5-15 mph. That is a drying wind which will try to dry out some of the snow bands as they move in, especially in our North Zone. Be extra careful as your out and about and expect a slow and tricky drive.
Snow showers will last into the overnight but it will be on the much lighter side just adding another dusting on top of Monday’s snow totals.
Tuesday forecast:
Tuesday stays cold and the winds will begin to crank N 10-20 mph gusting to near 30 mph at times. Skies will be mostly cloudy to partly sunny at times after some early morning snow and temps starting in the upper teens early will warm into only the mid and upper 20s. Most of Tuesday looks dry around SE Lower Michigan with some lake effect snow possible closer to Lake Huron.
Wednesday:
Wednesday and Thursday will be brighter but the warm up is slow to come. Temps Wednesday will start in the low teens with wind chills near zero and then warm into the upper 20s with that sunshine. Thursday will warm into the mid 30s and we likely don’t see 40 degrees until maybe Friday.
