Another cold start as temps stay below average Friday morning

Chance of showers Saturday

DETROIT –    It's yet another chilly start with temps a good 10 to 15 degrees cooler than average for this time of year.

You can expect upper 20s to low 30s as you head out early Friday and it will feel cool throughout the afternoon. Skies will be partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies but most of the Lake Effect moisture is in SW Lower Michigan. Some of our western suburbs may see a few morning flakes but most of Metro Detroit will stay dry. Highs will be near 50 degrees with winds WSW 7-17 mph making it feel a bit cooler outside.

A cold front will approach SE Michigan on Saturday bringing a chance for some midday showers along with gusty winds. Lows will be in the low to mid 30s with afternoon highs near 50 degrees. The wind may be the bigger story to start your weekend WSW 15-25 mph with some stronger gusts. So, hold off raking the leaves until Sunday.

It will be a slow warm up next week with highs getting back to near average (55-60 degrees) by Wednesday. But, the warm up comes with a price… rain. In fact, we could have some rain around for Halloween. Follow the your cool neighborhood temps, rain and snow on radar, and heads up look at your weekend forecasts on the new ClickOnDetroit app (it's free!) in your app store.
