Arctic air moving to Metro Detroit

Cold front moves in Saturday night, winds gusts up to 40 mph

We've been telling you all week long about the bitter cold air coming our way, and it's now knocking on the door.

If you have outdoor stuff you need to get done, such as running errands, finally getting those Christmas lights down, etc., then you'd better do it Saturday because you'll regret it if you put it off until Sunday. Skies will be partly cloudy Saturday, with only the slight chance for a stray late afternoon rain shower along and north of I-69. Highs soaring into the mid-40s, but it's also going to be a windy day, with southwest winds at 15 to 25 mph.

The Arctic cold front arrives Saturday night with window-rattling wind and some possible snow showers. Temperatures will drop to around 20, with 40 mph wind gusts possible.

Bitterly cold and continued windy Sunday, with steady temperatures in the low 20s (wind chills near zero). The bitter cold weather will stay with us through Wednesday before relaxing its grip...just in time for some snow to arrive later Thursday into Friday.
