Detroit weather: Muggy night, possible storms for Wednesday

High humidity expected for tonight and tomorrow

DETROIT – Now that the humidity is on us, it’s not going anywhere any time soon.  And temperatures will be hanging around 90 in the afternoon for the next three days.

Tonight will be muggy under partly cloudy skies.  Lows will drop to only 70 degrees.

Wednesday begins dry with some sunshine before a few thunderstorms pop up in the afternoon.  Not everyone will see these.  In fact, most will not get wet.  But the storms should provide welcome downpours in a few spots.  Highs will be in the low 90s with heat index readings in the mid 90s!

Another shot at PM storms exists Thursday.  And again, these potential thunderstorms will miss most of us.  Highs again will hit the low 90s with no relief from the humidity.

Friday will bring our best chance of storms, and the widest coverage of them too.  But some of these could be strong.  Highs will still be above average in the upper 80s.  This will be our last chance to get wet until the middle of next week.

Big changes for the weekend.

Temperatures cool and the humidity drops.  All the details are in the 10 Day Forecast.
