Light amount of snow by Monday morning

Lows in the low 20s

DETROIT – Overnight lows will be in the low 20s as light snow migrates over Detroit and all of Southeast Michigan Sunday night and early Monday morning.

The storm responsible for the snow will move quickly, thus keeping accumulations near 1 inch in spots by dawn on Monday. This trace to an inch of fresh snow will stick to the ground since it has been frigid for a while.

Drivers and pedestrians must remain alert during the Monday morning commute because roads and sidewalks will be slippery.

Monday afternoon will be drier with partly sunny skies and highs near 30 degrees.

The Arctic Express continues to roll over the region the rest of the week. Highs will be in the 20s and lows will be in the teens with daytime sunshine Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Because of the blustery conditions, wind chills will range from just below zero to the low teens. As always, residents will need to be careful with fireplaces and space heaters and keep pets indoors at night.
