Metro Detroit weather forecast: Chilly start with temps in the 20s

Another chilly start with Tuesday morning temps in the 20s and wind chills in the teens. But the winds are weaker today and we will not have that bite in the air all day. Plenty of sunshine with highs getting to 40 degrees or just a bit warmer and winds WNW 5-10 mph. High clouds will increase late afternoon and evening ahead of another weather change tomorrow.

Wednesday’s wet weather maker is delayed a bit so expect the chance for a wintry mix and rain showers mid to late morning with the bulk of the action coming in the afternoon. If you’re traveling in and out of Metro Detroit, an early start looks to be the best bet, or afternoon hours when it’s mostly rain showers. Areas along and north of I-69 in our North Zone will see the wintry mix or wet snowflakes a little longer under cooler air. But very little accumulation is expected and rain should overtake all of SE Lower Michigan and Southern Ontario through the afternoon. Temps will be in the upper 30s to low 40s with light winds ESE 5-10 mph.

Thanksgiving may start with a few flurries and/or drizzle early Thursday, but it looks dry as we get into America’s Thanksgiving Parade downtown Detroit. It stays mostly cloudy on your Thanksgiving Day as we see highs surging into the upper 40s. A few light rain and/or snow showers likely on Friday for all of you shoppers heading out. To stay ahead of the Fall swings and changes, make sure you have the Local4Casters app and take the weather with you.
