Metro Detroit forecast: Early morning showers with temps in the 30s

A few early morning showers are blowing through Metro Detroit this morning and will move out quickly leaving us again with cloudy skies and temps in the mid to upper 30s as you head out.

Clouds through most of your Wednesday and more showers are on the way this afternoon and evening. Parts of our North Zone into Central Lower Michigan will get a wintry mix and/or snow showers later this afternoon and evening with a brief coating possible. Most of Metro Detroit getting into the mid 40s this afternoon means rain again with snow possible overnight.

A wintry mix and snow showers early Thursday morning will make tomorrow’s morning drive a bit tricky or slippery. And a cooler stream of air will slowly move into Metro Detroit tomorrow as the winds start cranking W 10-20 mph bringing lake effect snow showers into play tomorrow. Temps in the mid to maybe upper 30s still could bring a light mix of rain and snow but we are trending cooler and should see flakes flying tomorrow.

Cooler conditions for the end of the week and weekend with 20s and low 30s Friday and Saturday as light snow showers keep coming and going. Model data suggests our area will see a grand total of 1-2” through the weekend, so no big snows.
