Metro Detroit forecast: Single-digit wind chills with snow chances

No description found

Clouds are rolling in this morning with very chilly temps in the teens feeling more like single digits to start your Friday. Some light snow is working in giving Metro Detroit a chance for light snow showers through the morning hours. Dry air will cut into the snow moving in from the west which lessens the threat for any real accumulation. Models have been more consistent with our North Zone getting perhaps a half inch to an inch of snow through the late morning and lunch hour. The afternoon hours will be breezy and cloudy, but mostly dry as highs head toward 30 degrees.

Expect single digit wind chills through the morning becoming more and more bearable as temps slowly warm. Winds are S 10-20 mph. A warm front arrives late afternoon which means our highs come late into the early evening in the low to mid 30s.

It will be a warmer weekend all around SE Lower Michigan and Southern Ontario as we feel temps climbing into the mid 40s Saturday under mostly cloudy skies and only a slight chance for a few sprinkles mid afternoon.

A rain and snow storm moves in early Sunday and it looks like mainly rain early Sunday with mild temps still in the upper 30s to near 40 degrees falling through the day. That means afternoon hours will be more of a mix of rain, sleet, and/or snow. You can always take the weather with you with the Local4Casters app.
