Metro Detroit weather: Damp and foggy start with temps in the 60s later

DETROIT – A damp and foggy start to your Monday with just a little bit of drizzle and wet roadways everywhere.

Temps are very mild near 50 degrees as you head out early and will warm into the low 60s this afternoon. The spit and drizzle will be lingering through 8 or 9 a.m. and then mainly just cloudy and drying out through the morning. We’re hoping to get a little bit of sun today, but expect mostly cloudy skies, low 60s, and mild with winds SW 5-12 mph.

There are more showers likely late tonight and overnight coming from a batch of severe weather in the Southern Plains today. Our showers overnight will be on the calm side with overnight temps in the mid 40s and drying out again through the mid morning Tuesday. The clouds will begin to break apart and bring a little bit of sun in the afternoon which will be helpful because it will be slightly cooler. Temps only hit the mid 50s through the afternoon and winds become North 5-12 mph.

Wednesday and most of Thursday look clear and calm with cooler conditions for a couple of days. Morning temps mid week will dip into the 30s and then only warming into the upper 40s to low 50s which is very near our seasonal averages. Rain chances return late Thursday into early Friday.
