Look for already mild temps to take off as clouds lift late this morning into this afternoon as we expect mid 60s. The clouds clearing is the big variable in how quickly we warm -- The Detroit record high today February 22nd is 65° and that’s about where we’ll end up today. The winds are light SW 5-10 mph.

Thursday may start with some light rain over the area and even a light wintry mix in our North Zone. This will be a very fast and light moving area of moisture that will dampen the roads for the commute tomorrow morning. This should be mostly rain, fog, and drizzle with morning temps close to 50 degrees around Metro Detroit. Again tomorrow only partly sunny skies and highs around 60 degrees. We may challenge the record which is in the low 60s tomorrow.

We can expect a couple of rounds of rain and thundershowers moving in Friday. The wet weather may start late Thursday Night, but prepare for a wet and possibly stormy start to your Friday. Morning showers will take a brief break followed by the chance for Severe Storms Friday night as a cold front approaches.

Stay tuned for this as it looks to by a rocky end of the work and school week Friday Night into early Saturday.
