DETROIT – Even though this is our "traditional" end of summer, no one bothered to tell Mother Nature. We've got hot and humid weather on tap for much of the week.
Look for mostly clear skies Monday night. Lows will drop only to the mid- and upper 60s, with humidity increasing through the night.
Plan on a muggy morning at the bus stop tomorrow. Temperatures will be around 70 with plenty of sunshine to start Tuesday. We'll add some clouds in the afternoon, but temperatures will max out near 90. Humidity will make it feel more like 94.
Our midweek nights won’t bring very comfortable sleeping conditions. Lows Tuesday and Wednesday night will only be in the low 70s. And with high humidity, it will be reminiscent of July instead of September.
Rain returns to the forecast on Thursday in the form of scattered thunderstorms. That should keep temperatures in the mid-80s for highs. But humidity will remain elevated. Thunderstorm chances will be around on Friday and Saturday, too. Temperatures will be dropping at the end of the week. Highs Friday will barely make 80. Saturday, after some morning showers or storms, highs will only rise to the mid-70s. That’s coming with lower humidity, too.
