Metro Detroit weather: Temps in the 40s with showers possible

DETROIT – Increasing clouds and rain chances today with radar showing an enhanced area of showers moving in from the west.

Dry air will limit showers too, but grab the umbrella as you head out this morning with temps in the low and mid 40s and light showers and drizzle possible through lunchtime. Thursday afternoon conditions are drying out around but staying cloudy and slightly cooler with high temps holding in the mid to upper 50s and winds E 5-10 mph.

Good Friday looks very nice and will be in between weather systems which means partly cloudy skies and mild climbing back into the low 60s. A warm front is moving in and will warm Metro Detroit for the weekend, but it will also bring shower chances. The rain holds off until after midnight and into Saturday morning.

A surge of warmer air on Saturday means we could see 80 degrees in a few spots, but we will also have rain and thundershowers coming and going. At times, partly sunny and warm and other times could be stormy with brief downpours and lightning. The winds pick up in the afternoon and evening from the South 10-25 mph.

Easter Sunday may start with some light showers delaying the Easter Egg Hunts until the early afternoon when conditions improve. We should be into the low 70s and a cool front will bring those morning showers and the slightly cooler weekend day. Still breezy Sunday and that wind will also help dry things through the afternoon. We’ll keep you posted as we get closer to the Easter Holiday. You can always stay ahead of the Spring showers with our Local4Casters app.
