It’s an Ozone Action Day with an Air Quality Alert for most of Metro Detroit on this Wednesday. This means the heat, humidity, sun, and lack of wind will create a dangerous heat.
The ozone chemical is created by the sun mixing with pollution and it makes breathing more difficult… especially for those in with health issues. Be careful!!! Highs soaring into the low 90s with a heat index in the mid 90s.
Rain chances increase Thursday with scattered rain and thundershowers late morning through the afternoon. A few areas may see some super soakers so watch for some isolated flash flooding. Otherwise, just garden variety showers with no threat yet of anything severe. Highs will be in the upper 80s tomorrow to near 90 with very muggy air moving in with the rain chances.
Friday into Saturday brings more rain chances as we tap into some monsoonal moisture from the southwest. This again poses a problem to watch out for… too much of a good thing. We could again see some areas getting too much rain as heavy rain may set up in certain areas making getting around more difficult. It will stay warm, near 90 degrees Friday between rain showers. And, showers will linger into Saturday before clearing and cooling a bit Sunday.
