Rain and more rain Friday morning

Highs in the 70s

DETROIT – It's a wet start with areas of light and scattered early morning rain turning more moderate to heavy rain mid morning. Lows are in the upper 40s and low to mid 50s. Rain will come in waves through the lunch hour and a few straggling showers linger through the mid afternoon today. Highs by Friday will struggle until the sun starts peeking through late afternoon as we head towards mid 70s as warming winds help heat things up as we head into the weekend. Winds start SE turning SW 8-18 mph with a few stronger gusts.

We have the Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure in Detroit this Saturday, and it looks iffy with rain and thundershowers moving into the area. Right now, models show rain south of Detroit and we hope everyone will be dry, but bring the umbrella just in case. Temps will warm Saturday afternoon to near 80 degrees and a few storms may fire again with the peak heat of the afternoon.

More storms are likely late on Sunday allowing temps to again warm into the low 80s to end the weekend. Those showers and storms should move in before dinner time and will be heavy at times. With several rain and thunder chances starting tomorrow and into the weekend, download the Local4Casters App and take the radar with you for peace of mind.
