Some clearing, getting colder in Detroit area

Lows in the 30s

DETROIT – Showers will diminish Saturday night and skies will become partly cloudy as temperatures will fall into the 30s by Sunday morning.

The start of the Detroit Free Press Marathon will be cold for runners, supporters and volunteers. When the starting pistol fires, temps will be near 39 degrees. Thermometers will read 50 degrees or so by midday and the end of the race.

Sunday afternoon will be cooler than average, but partly sunny with highs in the middle 50s.

Rain and even lower temperatures prevail next week. Monday will be in the 50s with a chance of wet conditions. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will be particularly blustery with highs only in the 40s and lows in the middle and low 30s.
