May ends with sun in metro Detroit

DETROIT – Another beautiful day in Metro Detroit starting with very comfortable morning lows in the mid 50s to near 60 degrees.

Mostly sunny skies today will lead to highs near 83 degrees by this afternoon. A cold front parked over the Thumb will bring noticeably cooler temps north mainly in the upper 60s to low 70s as the winds NE 5-10 mph will keep cooler air blowing in off of the big lakes. So, it’s another day with lower humidity and tons of sun.

Tomorrow will be the start of a transition from warm summer air to more Spring-Like conditions. Highs still getting into the upper 70s to  low 80s with winds E 5-10 mph keeping east siders a little cooler. Look for sun and clouds mixed through the day and then increasing clouds late. Rain showers and isolated storms move in Wednesday night and early Thursday. We need to keep an eye on activity late Wednesday as a few stronger storms in Western Michigan may fire up in parts of SE Lower Michigan by late evening.

Cooler air pools in for Friday and the weekend. Sunshine and highs in the mid to maybe upper 70s Friday will make for an ideal day in early June. The weekend looks decent with sun and 70s Saturday, and then showers likely on Sunday.
