Sunshine returns with rising temps Sunday

Highs near 50

DETROIT – Sunshine returns Sunday morning despite cold conditions. Morning lows will be in the low 20s for early-risers and families going to services with a northerly wind at 5 to 15 mph. Anyone going to the Detroit Shrine Circus in Hazel Park will need the winter coats.

Sunday afternoon will be bright and not as cold with temps closer to the average high. Afternoon temps will be near 50 degrees. Roads will be dry for drivers going to the 5pm Red Wings game at The Joe or the 7pm Katt Williams appearance at the Masonic Temple, and they will need their sunglasses.

Sunday evening will be chilly with the mercury falling through the 40s.

Sunday night will have fair skies and overnight lows near freezing.

Detroit baseball's opening day is on Monday. The Detroit Tigers take one the Kansas City Royals at Comerica Park at 1pm ET. Tailgaters will experience chilly conditions in the morning with temps rising from the 30s into the 40s. It will be near 50 degrees by the first pitch. Afternoon highs will be in the middle 50s by the end of the ballgame. Skies will be mostly to partly sunny with a southwest wind 10 to 15 mph.

Tuesday will be partly sunny with highs in the low 50s. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will be chillier and slipperier with showers and temps in the 40s.
