Memorial Day weather looks perfect; Temps in the 80s with drop in humidity

DETROIT – Sunday will be warm and muggy, again, with a better chance of more widespread showers and thunderstorms. Memorial Day, Monday, looks perfect after a cold front passes.

Severe Thunderstorm Warnings for Oakland, St. Clair, Macomb and Lapeer counties have expired.

Heavy rain, damaging wind, hail and dangerous lightning accompanied the severe thunderstorm cells.

Showers and thunderstorms diminish after midnight, and a cold front passes. Temps will fall to the low 60s and upper 50s. Residents can open the windows to air out their homes.

Memorial Day, Monday, will be perfect for any commemorations and trips to the pool or to see relatives. Highs will be in the low 80s, and it will be noticeably less humid under sunny skies.

Blue skies remain in the forecast Tuesday and Wednesday. Great outdoor-recess days for students with morning lows in the 50s and 60s and highs in the low 80s. Showers and storms are possible, again, Thursday with afternoon temps in the low 80s. It will be sunny and seasonably warm Friday and Saturday with highs in the mid 70s.

Northern Lower Peninsula
Sunday: Warm, humid with a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms. High near 80°F.
Sunday Night: Evening showers, storms. Drying out overnight, cooler. Lows in the upper 50s, low 60s.

Upper Peninsula
Sunday: Warm and humid, 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms. High in the low, mid 70s.
